My goal is to ensure that no stone is left unturned in advocating for the best possible outcomes for your children.

Welcome to Kids Need Occupational Therapy FOR PARENTS!!!

Here's the Why!

I have been a pediatric occupational therapist for the past nine years working directly with children in many settings including schools, sensory gyms and in my own private practice, Kids Need Occupational Therapy I am excited to be formally expanding my role to include consulting with parents on a myriad of issues related  to the growth, development and well-being of their children.

My Approach and Services

I am offering a comprehensive array of one-to-one consultative services tailored to meet the needs of parents grappling with securing appropriate special services for their children. This can include helping parents navigate the often-daunting landscape of IEP, IESP, and CPSE meetings with confidence and clarity and assisting parents in preparing thorough documentation and articulating their child's needs effectively during evaluations

Collaborating with Parents and Teachers

My expertise extends to troubleshooting ideas for teachers, offering practical solutions and strategies to support their child's development within the classroom setting. Additionally, my goal is to equip parents with a wealth of at-home activities specifically designed to reinforce therapeutic interventions and promote progress outside of formal therapy sessions.

By collaboratively identifying which services would be most beneficial for their child, I look forward to empowering  parents to make informed decisions and navigate the complex maze of special services with resilience and resolve. Please feel free to reach out to me in confidence with any questions or concerns about your child at kaylamoerdlerOT@gmail.com. I would welcome the opportunity to work with you!

See What Our Parents and Teachers are Saying!

Kayla has been fantastic with our first grader. She prepped engaging activities based on his interests, and as a result he enjoyed going to OT. She’s wonderful with kids and quickly developed a good rapport with him. She is extremely knowledgeable, honest, and communicated frequently with us. She is a true partner and our son has made so much progress because of her hard work. We’re so thankful that he (and we!) have the opportunity to work with her. - Andrew C. May 2024

Kayla's expertise helped guide us through the IEP process. She was kind, patient, supportive and extremely knowledgeable. She helped us every step of the way and we are truly grateful. We highly recommend her services. - Michelle O. June 2023

I have had the pleasure of working with Kayla professionally for seven years. I am most impressed with her ability to provide teachers with concrete ways to assess our students. She explains clearly what we are trying to identify and then shares easy-to-create strategies and tools to help us strengthen our students' fine motor skills, vestibular skills, and self-regulation. Having Kayla is an asset, and anyone who speaks with her can quickly see her expertise and passion for helping young children. No question feels too small or too big for Kayla; within moments, she can share helpful tidbits. She gives teachers more confidence. I have embedded many of her tips into my daily repertoire with my students.    - Jessica B. July 2024

Please feel free to reach out to Kayla in confidence
